VEGAS

Vegas is bright, all the time due to the lights constantly being on with gambling 24 hours a day. There are plenty of taxis from the airport. Don’t forget to leave at least a 10% tip everywhere, especially in taxis, people can get really annoyed if you leave to small a tip. They don’t have much of a minimum wage, most people make their earnings this way.

There are loads of quirky landmarks in Vegas, its just good to drive down the strip to see all of these as you go. Might even be worth getting a cab just to drive up and down it, all though traffic can be a bit of a problem but then your seeing the sights.

There’s even a Bubba Gump shrimp – straight out of Forrest Gump! I loved this, there’s loads of food in Vegas as we all know, the Americans love their food.

As the name implies, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.’s menu consists mostly of shrimp dishes. It serves other seafood, as well as Southern and Cajun cuisine. Be careful if you have a shellfish allergy..

They even have indoor skies in some of the casinos! Looks even better in real life. The Venetian Resort is where to find it.

Vegas Hotels

Even if you are not staying here, and I didn’t, we rocked out at the Bellagio. The Venetian casino is worth walking through and doing some shopping. It. Is. impressive. I have been to Venice in Italy and it is fascinating to see how they have tried to recreate a load of it. There are canals and gondolas, its awesome. This place is fun. It makes you feel like you are wandering the narrow streets of Venice, except these are actually wider than the real ones.

The day clubs and pool parties are the best club experience in Vegas. It’s absolutely worth it. Make sure you buy a ticket in advance, get there early, and be prepared to spend a couple hundred bucks each on drinks.

The drinks we had at a David Guetta pool party were all cocktails and get you damn wasted, so pace yourself but if you don’t then there are plenty of taxis about to get back to your hotel to pass out.

Just make sure you have enough dollar left to pay the taxi when you leave..

Vegas, alike most of America, can make some damn good burgers, all it takes to recreate back home is the following, (but you can beat one straight from the states.)

  1. 1 pound ground beef.
  2. 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion.
  3. 2 tablespoons chili sauce.
  4. 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce.
  5. 2 teaspoons prepared mustard.
  6. 4 slices American cheese or cheddar cheese, halved diagonally.
  7. 2 slices Swiss cheese, halved diagonally.

hamburger buns, split and toasted.

The fountains out the front of the Bellagio are a daily experience in Las Vegas, in fact, every 30 minutes, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday to Friday and every 15 minutes from 7:00 PM until midnight. On weekends and holidays, the fountains display their magic every 30 minutes from noon to 7:00 PM and every 15 minutes from 7:00 PM to midnight.

Its worth checking out at least once.

Tours in Vegas

The Hoover Dam (originally known as Boulder Dam) is an awesome symbol of America. Engineering is the beast here, built during America’s Great Depression (good way to get through depression building that..) as the then-largest dam construction project in the world. Travellers have flocked here for a fair amount of time to see picturesque views of Lake Mead and the Colorado River, and today, the dam. Damnnnn…

You can get a tour there if you like, included with the tour of the grand canyon and a helicopter flight. You can Visit Hoover Dam on a Las Vegas “mini” tour that doesn’t take up a whole day so you don’t waste your precious vacation and gambling time. Or, maybe you have a late flight and want to do something fun after hotel check-out. (we also stopped at a old cowboy street. After departing the Strip, its good to head to the dam, where you visit lookout points for views and photo ops.

Don’t know about you but I love long roads like this, get a snap while your there, plently in Australia too. Route 66 is America’s most iconic drive although not here covering over 2,000 miles of America’s countryside and rural towns.

Las Vegas isn’t part of the original Route 66. But, it’s a city you might be keen to experience at least once around that way, and it’s close enough to the canyon.

The grand canyon is absolutely massive, I’d highly recommend a helicopter flight or going down there and kayaking, we didn’t do that as on a budget but really wish I did. You will also find Native Americans selling stuff near by, recommend a buy there also.

Grand Canyon is in the northwest corner of Arizona, close to the borders of Utah and Nevada. The Colorado River, which flows through the canyon, drains water from seven states, but the feature we know as Grand Canyon is entirely in Arizona.

February 11, 2012, the wind was high and the streak was good, a customer suffered what was reported to be an apparent heart attack while eating a “Triple Bypass Burger” at the restaurant – the heart attack grill – man vs food, eat your heart out! Restaurant owner Jon Basso called 9-1-1 and the customer was taken to the hospital. Reportedly patrons thought it was a stunt and started taking photos.

If your fat enough, you eat for free, they have a cattle scale for that..

Downtown Las Vegas is wee part off daddy vegas, the central business district and historic centre of Las Vegas, where all the mobs burnt their first money on the city in Nevada. … Downtown is located in the centre of the Las Vegas Valley and just north of the Las Vegas Strip, centred on Fremont Street, the Fremont Street Experience and Fremont East.
